Pranayama is the fourth step in Yoga along the 8 step path to Liberationand Enlightenment. The first two steps are a moral and ethical framework ofhow to live as a good person (named Yamas and Niyamas) ,and then come the physical Asanas (Yogic postures). The fourth stage is Pranayama/control of the vital energy. After thatcomes Pratyahara (turning the senses inward), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (Meditation) and Samadhi(Enlightenment of which there are 8 stages along this Spiritual path). Yoga Asanas and Pranayama are meant to rebalanced the body, put it into alightment andrid a person of disease so that they are prepared to sit in Meditation and go deeper.
Pranayama, the ancient practice of Breathing and 'control of the vital force' is a cornerstone of Yoga and a powerful tool for holistic well-being. By mastering your breath, you unlock a gateway to deeper relaxation, improved focus & mental clarity, feelings of depth and connection, balancing of emotions and enhanced vitality. There are specific breathing excercises to calm the nervous system, to rebalance the left and right hemispheres of the brain, to activate energy & energize, to increase mental focus, to release stress & tension, and even some breathing excercises to cool the system down. Pranayama is a gentle yet profound practice.
Pranayama is included in a regular Yoga class, as is a short Meditation at the end, however you may want to focus your 1-hour session solely on Pranayama. Sessions are €95/hour and can be done privately or in groups split among the number of participants per class.
Whether you're a beginner or experienced practitioner, our pranayama programs offer a supportive environment to explore the transformative power of breath.
